Strategic offshore partner for information security
In 2020, Qualogy Caribbean and SEP successfully participated together in a major tender in the Netherlands for the development of an accountability tool that is now used by all municipalities, securing a large 10-year contract. At the time of its founding, the company's goal was to develop e-learning programs for local government, and today that is essentially the company's core activity.
After developing an e-learning course on elections, they developed an Information Security Management System (ISMS), a Cloud software package where municipalities can monitor their information security policy. ISMS is based on the Baseline Information Security Government (BIO), which in turn is derived from the ISO 27001/2 standard.
Since both parties were very satisfied with the collaboration on the software development of ISMS, they decided to participate as equal partners in the tender process to develop what would later become the ENSIA tool, which stands for Uniform Normative Single Information Audit. This is a tool used by all Dutch municipalities to account for information security based on the standards applicable to the Dutch government, the aforementioned BIO. It was, to put it mildly, an extraordinary achievement for Qualogy Caribbean and SEP – both relatively small companies – to win this tender, as there were several other large IT companies also participating in the bidding process.
