Corporate responsibility: “Gratitude gives us much energy and work pleasure”

You can achieve more with a team than on your own. It is with this belief that Qualogy Caribbean invests in social projects. Curious as to how we approach this? Get inspired by our colleague Nadirah Baldewsingh, who is passionate about this cause.

Nadirah explains why social involvement is so important to Qualogy Caribbean: “Both small and large initiatives desperately need voluntary assistance and funding. That is why we love to help all kinds of projects, even though they do not have a direct link to our own business. Since our founding in 2007, we have been a loyal sponsor of various organizations and events.

We gladly roll up our sleeves to help these initiatives. For example, we organized multiple knowledge sessions for students and professionals over the past few years. In addition, we participated in the Quota Men Cookout, the SARK Rally, and we supported a dance event.”

Do something for someone else

Nadirah is the initiator of these social projects. How does she handle the planning and organization?

Nadirah: “We make an annual overview and planning of every social action we participate in. We have worked with some projects for years, but we also take on new initiatives. There are more and more of them. Colleagues like to work together and be meaningful to someone else.”

Win-win effect

Nadirah has noticed that doing something for someone else also boosts team spirit and energy. She explains: “Colleagues can volunteer for every project. They form a team and take on the planning and organization. I understand it gives them a lot of satisfaction. The gratitude from the organizations is priceless. And organizing something together, outside the four walls of the office, strengthens the team spirit. Colleagues get to know each other even better.”

Future ambitions

The 2019 social projects are all finished. How will Qualogy Caribbean continue this goal in the future?

Nadirah: “We put aside an annual budget and amount of time for these initiatives, and we will certainly do so again in 2020. Our focus is on the growth and development of professionals, adolescents, and vulnerable target groups. Projects that also contribute to the development of our own employees. In the coming months, we’ll make sure our social agenda for 2020 is filled.”
