From IT supplier to innovation partner
Hakrinbank N.V., one of the larger banks in Suriname, employs a planning and control cycle in which a multi-year development plan is drawn up in which the strategy for the next four years is established. In one of its annual plans, based on this strategic plan, it was determined that the bank, in order to improve its products and services, had to make a shift from a product-oriented to a customer-oriented approach. This shift naturally had a number of consequences, and this is where Qualogy Caribbean came into the picture.
The bank was aware that to achieve an improved customer experience, the focus should be on a few core elements: excellent execution, employee engagement and ease of doing business. Against this background, a number of projects were identified for which various IT skills were needed.
The bank decided to opt for a dual IT approach, whereby Hakrinbank's IT department was primarily responsible for keeping existing IT processes operational, while external parties would be engaged to focus on the digitalization of business processes and the modernization of service delivery.
